SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos VII Euergetes (Sidetes), 138-129 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.50 g, 1 h), posthumous issue by the Cappadocian Kings, uncertain mint in Cappadocia, circa 127-118. Diademed head of Antiochos VII to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ - ΕΥΕΡΓΕΤΟΥ Athena standing front, head to left, holding Nike in her right hand and spear and shield with her left; to outer left, Β above Α; all within laurel wreath. SC 2136. A beautifully toned and perfectly centered piece. Good very fine.

From an old Swiss collection, formed in the mid 20th century, privately acquired from Dr. H. Nussbaum in Zurich.
